Technology Innovator | Siemens Healthineers Rapid Prototyping and Innovation

July 2023 - Present

• As the leader of technology innovation, my role involves overseeing the execution of the company's innovation strategy in alignment with the business objectives. I concentrate on fostering innovation by directing initiatives such as prototyping and incubation within the organization. Moreover, I ensure the presence of necessary tools, personnel, and processes to propel innovation and oversee the Intellectual Property (IP) process. This encompasses the formulation and execution of IP strategies and policies throughout the company.

Master Thesis | Lehrstuhl für Anwendungen in der Medizin

October 2022 to May 2023

• When there are a large number of injured people at a site, all available experts are needed immediately, both at the accident site and at the hospital. To ensure the quality of diagnosis and treatment, it should be possible to call in external expertise to support the relief workers on site. In ARTEKMED, a telepresence system for medical consultation using augmented reality is being developed for use at the accident scene and in the hospital. The system allows all available but not on-site experts to be brought virtually to the scene for consultation in order to support the treating physicians in diagnosis and treatment. To this end, technical solutions are being developed for 3D reconstruction in real-time, for determining the position of the participants, and for efficient and secure communication. Furthermore, social aspects such as the acceptance of digital doubles in accident situations will also be researched in the project.

 

Working Student | Siemens Healthineers Rapid Prototyping and Innovation

January 2022 to June 2023

• After my internship, I was given the opportunity to join the team as a working student to continue in the development process of healthcare devices using Augmented Reality, where we created various prototypes such as multiuser capabilities using photon unity network, guides for one of our MR machine, cloud rendering, mobile AR application for Children hospital use case and many other still in the development phase. Also hosted a workshop series for more than 100 people organized by Siemens Healthineers including surgeons from the Klinikum.

 

Research Internship | Siemens Healthineers Information Technology Incubation, Data, and Automation OpenIT studio

August 2021 to January 2022

• I worked as a research student in the innovation center of Siemens Healthineers, where I contributed to developing healthcare-related prototypes.

• I also helped in working on citizen development-related projects using Power Apps.

• I was working as a student in the product department of a telemedicine startup to redefine the user experience in the backend.

• I was working under Dr. Xiao Xu at the Technical University of Munich. My role was to convert the 1-DOF TDPA Simulink model into a new 3-DOF TDPA model as well as merge the libraries.

• I was a student intern at Siemens where I was understanding the basic functioning of various medical devices. I was accompanying a service engineer for the maintenance and service of these machines.
